Environmental compliance

The Environmental module has two halves: monitoring — readings for air, water, waste and emissions evaluated against the limits in your permits — and permit obligations, a deadline calendar for the reports, stack tests, renewals and fees those permits require.

Set up limits first

1. Open Environmental and choose Limits (top-right).
2. Add a limit for each parameter you monitor: site, medium, parameter, limit type, value, unit, and the permit reference it comes from.

Readings can't be entered until at least one active limit exists — the monitoring page points you to add one.

Record a reading

1. Back on Environmental, in the Record a reading form pick the parameter / limit, enter the measured value and date, and pick measured by from the roster.
2. Save with Record reading. The site comes from the chosen limit, and the reading is compared to it: anything over shows an EXCEEDANCE badge on a red row.
3. On an exceedance, click Raise CAPA; the row then shows the linked CAPA number.
4. Below the table, Trends vs limit sparklines each parameter against its limit line, and the Emissions summary rolls greenhouse-gas readings up into tCO₂e over a rolling 12 months.

Track permit obligations

1. Choose Obligations (top-right). Each row shows type, permit reference, frequency, due date and status — Due soon within 30 days, Overdue in red.
2. Add one with the Add obligation form: title, type, medium, permit reference, frequency, due date, and a responsible party from the roster.
3. Click Complete when it's done. A recurring obligation (anything but one-off) automatically rolls the next occurrence, marked ↻.
4. Raise CAPA on an overdue row, or use Raise CAPA for overdue in the header to sweep every overdue obligation that doesn't have one yet.

What happens automatically

• Obligations due within 30 days or overdue are picked up by the escalation sweep, which notifies the responsible party (or the Safety Team if none is named).
• The permit registry feeds this calendar: Track as obligation on a permit condition creates a linked obligation, and when a permit's renewal window opens a renewal obligation is auto-created for the permit owner, due 30 days before expiry.
• Open obligations appear on the compliance calendar, and Export deadlines (.ics) subscribes your own calendar to the same feed.
