Inspection readiness

A one-screen "an inspector is coming" checklist showing everything outstanding for a chosen regime.

Inspection readiness answers one question: if an inspector showed up today, what's outstanding? It pulls the open items that matter for a compliance visit into a single, read-only view — nothing is edited here; you work the gaps in their own modules.

Check your readiness

  1. Open Inspection readiness.
  2. Choose a Regime — Mining (MSHA 30 CFR), General industry (OSHA 1910), or Construction (OSHA 1926).
  3. A banner at the top says Ready or Not ready for that regime.

Work the gaps

Each card below the banner is a readiness area with a count of outstanding items and a short detail line. Cards with outstanding work are outlined in amber; clear cards show green.

  • Workplace examinations / Inspections — uncorrected adverse conditions across open exams. For MSHA the card cites 30 CFR 56/57.18002. Fix them in workplace exams.
  • Training currency — expired records (with expiring-soon noted in the detail). For MSHA the card cites Part 46/48. Fix them in training.
  • Corrective actions — overdue CAPAs out of the open total. Fix them in CAPA.
  • Submission packets — packets prepared but not yet signed (see recordkeeping).
  • Silica program (30 CFR Part 60) — MSHA regimes only: open PEL exceedances plus overdue samples, from the MSHA silica module.

As you close items in those modules, reopen or reload this page and the counts drop.

What "Ready" means

The banner flips to Ready when there are zero uncorrected exam conditions, zero expired training records, zero overdue CAPAs, and — for MSHA — no open silica exceedances or overdue samples. Unsigned submission packets show as outstanding on their card but don't by themselves make you Not ready.

Tip: switch regimes to prep for different visit types — the sections and counts change to match what that inspector cares about. For deadline-driven prep, pair this page with the compliance calendar.
