Mine profile (your MSHA public record)

Your mine's actual MSHA public record — violations, inspections, and Part 50 accidents — synced weekly from MSHA's Friday data refresh and shown beside your own data.

Every mine's enforcement history is public — inspectors, insurers, and buyers all look at it. This page puts your mine's actual MSHA record beside your own data, synced weekly from MSHA's public open-data files (refreshed Fridays).

What you see

Pick the mine from the Mine (site) selector at the top, then:

  • Open (unterminated) citations — violations in the public record with no termination date yet. This is the number an inspector asks about first; it also feeds a dashboard tile.
  • Last-12-months cards — violation count, S&S share, and proposed penalties.
  • Violations (recent 5 years) — the standard cited (hover it to see the rule's actual 30 CFR text), citation type, S&S designation, negligence, proposed penalty, and open / terminated / vacated / contested status. Open violations are highlighted.
  • Inspections and Part 50 accidents — the event timeline MSHA has on file, with the accident narratives in the record's own words.
  • History by year — violations, S&S counts, inspections, accidents, and proposed penalties by year.
  • The footer shows the profile's as-of date — the public data lags up to a week, and S&S share is a screening signal only; MSHA's Pattern of Violations monitoring tool is the authoritative POV source.

What happens automatically

  • A background job checks MSHA's open-data files daily and does a real rebuild when the source has refreshed (Fridays), keeping only the mines your sites track.
  • If a profile hasn't synced in over two weeks, a Mine profiles stale warning appears on the dashboard rather than the data silently aging.
  • Open-citation counts roll up to a dashboard tile (green at zero, amber otherwise).

Setup

Give each mine site its MSHA mine ID (onboarding or site settings) — the display format like 46-01968 is fine — and ask your administrator to enable the MSHA data sync. Profiles appear after the next weekly pass.
