Pallet racking

Run pallet-racking damage on the red/amber/green traffic light, with weekly walks, automatic CAPAs, and amber that ages to red at 4 weeks.

Racking damage runs on the industry traffic light:

  • Red — offload immediately; the bay is OUT OF USE until repaired, and a high-priority CAPA (due in 7 days) is raised automatically.
  • Amber — remedial work promptly; a medium CAPA due in 4 weeks is raised automatically, and unresolved amber becomes red automatically at 4 weeks (the system enforces this).
  • Green — record and move on.

Register bays and walk them weekly

  1. Under Register a bay, pick the site, enter the area (e.g. "Aisle 4") and bay ref (e.g. "A4-12"), and click Add bay.
  2. Log the weekly visual walk per area under Log a racking walk — enter the area and how many bays you checked, then click Log walk.
  3. Install the "Racking Damage Walk (visual)" checklist from starter content for the walk prompts.

Record and repair damage

  1. On a bay's row, click Record damage, choose the class (Green / Amber / Red), describe the damage, and click Record.
  2. When damage is fixed, click repaired on its badge. Repairing the last red damage returns the bay to service automatically.
  3. To open a corrective action independently of the traffic light, use the Raise CAPA button on the bay's row (set the owner and due date on raise) — this sits alongside the automatic red/amber CAPA, for follow-up work you want to track yourself.

What happens automatically

  • Recording red or amber damage raises the CAPA for you — there's no separate step. Those auto-raised red and amber CAPAs default-assign to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • An amber left unresolved for 3 weeks escalates by notification before it ages to red at 4 weeks.
  • A red bay that's out of use escalates to the warehouse supervisor.
  • An area whose weekly walk is overdue (or was never walked) escalates too.

Export

Export register (CSV) downloads the full bay register with each bay's state and open damage — api/racking/register.csv.

Tip: the traffic light only works if the weekly walk actually happens — register every bay so the walk-overdue escalation has something to check against.
